the 2022 Traverse Elite Mini Conference in Greece
In October 2022, the Traverse team and 30 incredible content creators headed to Greece for the fifth Traverse Elite Mini Conference.
Whilst we hand picked the majority of attendees, we also invited content creators to apply for a place at this special event.
The event was held in the amazing regions of Thessaloniki and Halkidiki from 6-11 October 2022. Content creators took part in a range of amazing activities and trips but also have some freedom to explore.
The conference side of the campaign consisted of small practical workshops, all focussed around different forms of photography. This included shooting wildlife and nature, city skylines, food and drink, water and many more.
As well as learning, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy some fantastic social evenings as the whole group came together for meals and nights out.

Thessaloniki is everything you could want from a European vacation crammed into one city. At a crossroads between east and west, Thessaloniki has been at the heart of great empires for millennia and brims with historic sights. When it comes to the best things to do in Thessaloniki, you’re spoiled for choice.
Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece, situated on the edge of the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea. A significant portion of the city was destroyed in a fire in 1917 and has since been rebuilt giving the region a 20th-century modern European layout.
While Halkidiki is generally popular with families looking for luxury all-inclusive resorts it’s still a great region for couples given selected exclusive hotels and the ability to explore some of Greece’s most vibrant local culture.
We arrived in Thessaloniki without firm expectations and so, without much research. However, we were already pumped to explore a great city away from the crowds, in what many think is an off the beaten path place in Greece.
We came to Thessaloniki to eat and work. Plus to enjoy the warmth. It was late October and still a perfect 24c. Over little under a month, we enjoyed some of the best food we have ever tasted. What makes Thessalonki, the food capital of Greece? The city’s rich culinary traditions have been built on the wave of immigrants that have made the city home over the centuries.
