Well today is more of the same, kind of\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WTM is pretty much unparalleled as a business opportunity, and I would always say that professionalism comes first. It\u2019s also well worth noting how much fun there is to be had throughout WTM week. So here are some more tips, this time about how to get the most out of the social side of WTM London, hangovers and all\u2026<\/p>\n<h3>Find out when and where the fun is<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This may be an obvious one to kick us off, but you need to know where to go and when to be there. There are some big parties that are hard to avoid (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.traverse-events.com\/its-back-pre-wtm-traverse-mingle-2018\/?fbclid=IwAR3vd5Fkr-M6QzdGzzwWJOcC1_WFT2uFzUbHxjhjt8fhI3rUoyqsDbPX-yY\">Traverse Mingle<\/a>, Travel Massive for example) but there are also a raft of others. If you have not already, then join the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1388995484676308\/\">WTM Influencers\u2019 Group<\/a> on Facebook and keep an eye out for what is happening.<\/p>\n<div class=\"btx-item btx-image btx-center-position\"><div class=\"btx-image-container\"><div class=\"btx-media-wrapper modal-image\" style=\"max-width:100%;\"><a class=\"btx-media-wrapper-inner\" href=\"https:\/\/www.traverse-events.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/WTM2017-_SJH5939-min.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.traverse-events.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/WTM2017-_SJH5939-min.jpg\" alt=\"\"  width=\"2000\" height=\"1333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.traverse-events.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/WTM2017-_SJH5939-min.jpg 2000w, https:\/\/www.traverse-events.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/WTM2017-_SJH5939-min-1280x853.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.traverse-events.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/WTM2017-_SJH5939-min-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.traverse-events.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/WTM2017-_SJH5939-min-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.traverse-events.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/WTM2017-_SJH5939-min-512x341.jpg 512w, https:\/\/www.traverse-events.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/WTM2017-_SJH5939-min-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width:2000px) 100vw, 2000px\" \/><\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<h3>On stand events \u2013 professional networking\u2026<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As stated at the start of this post, professionalism and business is where it\u2019s at for WTM, but that doesn\u2019t mean you can\u2019t double that up with some fun at the on-stand events. Some of these are invite only, many pop up as the week goes. My recommendation is try and finish the \u2018business\u2019 side of your days by 4:30pm, then head to a stand to drink and start the social side of the day.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"btx-item btx-quote btx-quote--block btx-center-position btx-center-align btx-p-brand-border btx-s-bg-bg btx-with-background\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;\"><div class=\"btx-quote-text btx-s-text-color btx-secondary-font\" >&#8216;professionalism and business is where it\u2019s at for WTM, but that doesn\u2019t mean you can\u2019t double that up with some fun at the on-stand events&#8217;<\/div><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Alcohol leads to hangovers, deal with them in the best way you can<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is unavoidable for most people who enjoy a tipple and complementary drinks are not hard to find at and around WTM. I personally try and have at least one night where the alcohol intake is minimal, note the word \u2018try\u2019 here. My advice, prepare to have a hangover, whatever way you try and fix these beasts, prepare it. Berocca in the handbag, a cold coke in the morning, coffee before you speak to anyone\u2026 whatever it is, you\u2019ll be happy you have it.<\/p>\n<h3>FOMO is very real<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One thing about WTM is that with so many thousands of people, there are likely to be many clashes when it comes to drinks and events. Some people try and do multiple events in an evening, some stick at one place. One thing\u2019s for sure though, you\u2019ll fear missing out no matter what you choose.<\/p>\n<h3>Take a walk<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WTM is huge, the entirety of the ExCel centre with over 50,000 people in attendance. If you haven\u2019t been before, you\u2019ll be amazed by what you can see and do just by taking a walk around. Grab a friend and go for a stroll, you\u2019ll have fun. In past years I have ended up at beer tastings, in an escape room, sampling cakes, holding a falcon, eating curry, posing with celebrities and more. Make sure you keep some wandering time aside.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"btx-item btx-quote btx-quote--block btx-center-position btx-center-align btx-p-brand-border btx-s-bg-bg btx-with-background\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;\"><div class=\"btx-quote-text btx-s-text-color btx-secondary-font\" >&#8216;In past years I have ended up at beer tastings, in an escape room, sampling cakes, holding a falcon, eating curry, posing with celebrities and more&#8217;<\/div><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Prizes!<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are so many competitions at WTM that it\u2019s easy to lose track. Make sure you have enough business cards not just for the meetings, but also for dropping in to prize draws on various stands and at different drinks and parties. These take place from 4:30pm on the Wednesday evening and happen throughout the venue. Take a look on the WTM website to see which stands are taking part and head to one if you have time. They have live music, drinks, food and all round fun. A perfect way to end the three days a WTM before the final night of partying.<\/p>\n<h3>Relax, regardless of how prepared you are<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes, WTM is stressful, but it is important to stay as relaxed as you can as you bounce between stands and meetings. If you\u2019ve not planned many meetings in advance, that is not the end of the world at all, there are so many great opportunities to meet people, brands and destinations.<\/p>\n<h3>Remember why you started this<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This may not be true for absolutely everyone reading this, but the vast majority of influencers started their channels because if was something they loved.
