On Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September the Traverse and Reed Exhibitions teams hosted the debut of BorderlessLive.<\/strong> The event took place in Tobacco Dock, a former warehouse in East London, the perfect venue for this brand new festival for both aspiring and established content creators. Bunting adorned the wooden beams and colourful flags signalled <\/span>the way to the festival as we welcomed over 600 guests to join us for two days packed full of learning, networking and inspiration.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Inspiring sessions and panels<\/h3>\n

Over the festival we were delighted to offer a packed conference schedule of informative and inspiring sessions. Topics ranged from SEO to film editing, securing a big time book deal to blogging for the right reasons. We were joined by an array of speakers including Fun For Louis and Sorelle Amore, who spoke about using social media to change the world and capitalising on your small audience for maximum reach respectively. One of the most packed out talks was from the wonderful Kash, aka Budget Traveller, who delivered a passionate and extremely well received session on ‘influencers are dying, long live the content creators.’<\/p>\n

Representatives from brands such as N26, Brigit’s Bakery, Catalunya and Komodo explored previous campaigns, tips for creating content, discussion on how to collaborate in the future and much more, while Zhiyun demonstrated how to create epic content using some of their tech.<\/p>\n

If these sessions weren’t enough, we had a\u00a0host of panels featuring a variety of speakers. Industry experts joined leading content creators to discuss hot topics such as\u00a0‘How To Pitch To Brands,’ which delved into the nitty gritty of what brands are looking for from content creators. Traverse’s Han hosted the panel, joined by Barry from Gosh PR, Casey from G Adventures, Kirsty Leanne and Marty Sandiego.<\/p>\n

Money wasn’t a topic that was shied away from either, especially on the ‘How Do I Make Money Online?’ panel, as panelists discussed the various ways creators can create passive income, make money from paid campaigns and freelance work. We also loved finding out more from the Blogosphere Award winners Miss Katy English, Mr Carrington, Leela Jasmine Sule in ‘Creating Award Winning Content’ hosted by Albertine Brandon.<\/p>\n

Networking Opportunities<\/h3>\n

There were three separate speed networking sessions over the course of the festival, where brands and industry attendees were able to approach content creators to discuss future collaborations. As well as this, there was ample opportunity to connect with brands and PR representatives on-stand in the exhibition hall and at our evening events.<\/p>\n

Exhibitors<\/h3>\n

We were delighted to be joined by representatives from over 35 brands in the exhibition space. Over on the Czech Republic stand they made sure that everyone was refreshed with local beers and wine cocktails, while Brigit’s Bakery kept attendees sweet with some of their delicious cakes and the German National Tourist Office offered guests a VR experience.<\/p>\n

We were also joined by brands, PRs and destinations such as China National Tourist Office, G Adventures, N26, Tinggly, Lotus PR, Korea, Zhiyun, Skyroam, Boom Creative Lab, Komodo, BCMA and many more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Evening events<\/h3>\n

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening we put on a variety of meet-ups, relaxed drinks (with some karaoke thrown in) and an epic closing party hosted by G Adventures for attendees of BorderlessLive to relax and network.<\/p>\n

Life Like Charlie and DJ Monni T provided some awesome music at the end of both days and we concluded the final day of BorderlessLive with an amazing silent disco (and lots of out of tune singing).<\/p>\n
