For Tbilisi:
Georgia’s capital city offers a unique blend of history, culture, and cuisine. Here’s what to pack for a visit in January:
Clothing:
- Warm winter coat or jacket
- Sweaters or thermal layers
- Long-sleeve shirts
- T-shirts (for layering)
- Thermal underwear (tops and bottoms)
- Jeans or warm pants
- Scarf, gloves, and a hat
- Waterproof boots with good traction
- Socks (warm, moisture-wicking)
- Pajamas or sleepwear
- Underwear
Electronics:
- Travel adapter (if needed)
- Mobile phone and charger
- Camera and accessories (if you’re into photography)
- Power bank
Toiletries:
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Body wash or soap
- Deodorant
- Razor and shaving cream
- Hairbrush or comb
- Moisturiser and lip balm (to combat dry winter air)
- Personal medications
Miscellaneous:
- Passport and visa (if required)
- Travel insurance (must cover all activities you will take part in) and documents

For Svaneti:
If you’re heading to the picturesque mountain region of Svaneti, where the weather can be much colder, here are additional items to pack:
Clothing:
- Extra warm layers, heavy-duty thermal tops, and bottoms
- Snow pants or insulated hiking pants (for outdoor activities)
- Insulated waterproof jacket
- Warm, waterproof boots with gaiters
- Wool socks
- Good shoes for snow, hiking shoes (not trainers), water proof is recommended
Miscellaneous:
- Personal safety and health items: Insurance (you MUST have appropriate insurance), sunscreen, lip balm with SPF, emergency contact information
For Skiing or Snowboarding in Gudauri:
If hitting the slopes in Gudauri is on your agenda, you’ll need specialised gear and clothing:
Skiing or Snowboarding Gear:
- Skis or snowboard, poles, boots, bindings, helmet, goggles, gloves, pants, jacket
- You can rent skis, snowboard, poles, boots, bindings, helmet and goggles.
- Base layers, neck gaiter or balaclava, specialised socks, hand and foot warmers
Miscellaneous:
- Ski pass or lift ticket (provided), resort trail map, backpack with hydration system, energy snacks

Après-Ski Clothing:
